Sony Immediately Reveals PS5 Specification Details – Sony plans to reveal more information about the hardware used in the PlayStation 5 (PS5) in the near future.
The information will be revealed in a live streaming event held on March 18, 2020 at 9 am local time, or Thursday (3/19/2020) evening WIB. The event will be aired on the official PlayStation blog.
This event is a continuation of Sony’s statement which confirmed the name of the PlayStation 5 in October 2020, some small information about the specifications of the console which will be released at the end of 2020.
So far, Sony has confirmed that the PS5 will use an eight-core CPU based on the 3rd generation AMD Ryzen CPU, and a custom GPU with AMD Radeon Navi architecture.
This console will also support 8K resolution, 3D audio, 4K 120Hz, low power consumption options, and super fast SSDs as storage, as quoted by The Verge, Wednesday (3/18/2020).
This Sony event is held a few days after Microsoft unveiled the full specifications of the Xbox Series X. The Microsoft console will use a custom AMD Zen 2 CPU with eight 3.8GHz speed cores, as well as a custom GPU with AMD RDNA 12 teraflops architecture and 52 compute units at respective speeds – 1,825GHz.
Then there is also 16GB GDDR6 RAM with 1TB NVMe SSD storage which can be added up to 1TB.
